Within the mission of the EENPS to promote philosophy of science in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), we would like to highlight research centres with strong ties to the region and to our network. Through this initiative, the EENPS aims at facilitating contacts for regional, European and global cooperation, search for experts from the region (collaborative research projects, conferences, editorial boards of journals, etc.), acquisition of successful strategies and coordination of efforts to continuously improve the conditions in and the attractiveness of the CEE region for philosophers of science.
The presentations of the centres cover the following topics: What are the research domains of the centre, how do they relate to the EENPS and to the region? If the centre is specialised, the presentations should highlight the region- or centre-specific research topics and eventually cooperation with other regional centres focusing on philosophy of science. Does the centre organise activities or publish articles aiming at answering local or regional questions? How does the centre interact and contribute to the global discussion? Why is it important to create and fund research centres like yours in the CEE? The presentations should highlight the research output demonstrating the value on the local, regional (CEE/Europe) and the global level. What are the advantages of creating research centres and conducting research in the CEE? The presentation should highlight the opportunities for the centre and its researchers. Are there any particular issues or challenges related to the local or regional context? If there are any particular issues or challenges, the presentation should indicate how they were addressed, eventually suggest the strategies that should be adopted to resolve them and explore how the EENPS can be of assistance. Why is the centre and the CEE an attractive choice for researchers? The presentation should highlight the opportunities offered by the centre to the members of the EENPS and researchers from the CEE, Europe and the world. It is also possible to present a particular research team or a group working in a more specific domain, highlight cooperation with other centres in the region or outside, present upcoming events or workshops, etc. |
