New Bulgarian University (NBU) 21 Montevideo Str. 1618 Sofia TRAVEL From Sofia Airport to the City Center By metro: Take it directly from Sofia Airport station, then switch lines at Serdika station and get off at the next stop - NDK station (National Palace of Culture). By taxi: If you prefer to call a taxi it is strongly recommended that you ask for it at the special desk at the airport. The licensed taxi company which operates at the Airport is “OK Supertrans” (their phone number is +35929732121). The distance from the airport to the City Center is approximately 10 km and you will be charged about 12-15 leva (6-8 EUR). From the Central Railway/Central Bus Station to the City Center By metro: Take it from Central Railway station and get off at NDK station. By tram: Take tram 7 and take off at NDK Station. By taxi: If you prefer to call a taxi it is strongly recommended that you call a cab operated by a licensed company – e.g. “OK Supertrans” (their phone number is +35929732121). Then take Montevideo Str. New Bulgarian University is approximately 400 meters away, located on the left. By Tram 5: Take Tram 5 from its first stop at Sadebna palata and get off at Nikola Petkov Blvd. Then turn right and walk along Nikola Petkov Blvd. until you reach Montevideo Str. Then turn again right and take Montevideo Str. New Bulgarian University is approximately 400 meters away, located on the left. Note: If you stay at Casa Ferrari, it is recommended to take the bus, for all other hotels in the City Center, you can go by foot to either Praga Blvd. and take the bus, or to Sadebna palata and take the tram. Currently there is a big metro extension project going on and the transport routes undergo frequent changes. It costs 4 leva (2 euro) and grants unlimited number of trips with bus, tram, or metro. The three day travelling card costs 10 leva (5 euro). Moreover, it does not need to be validated when you board the vehicle. The ticket for a single trip costs 1,60 leva (80 cents). It needs to be validated when you enter the vehicle. Tickets and travelling cards are sold at the newspaper stands and at special desks located closely to the main stops of the public transport.
